Fancy Pigeons (Tattabara)
Tattabara (تَطَبَارَة) is the Hausa name for ornamental fancy pigeons, and they are among the most sought-after birds in Northern Nigeria. Kept for their beauty, variety, and cultural significance, fancy pigeons are a beloved pastime for hobbyists and collectors from Kaduna to Kano to Sokoto.
Jannah Farms maintains one of the most diverse fancy pigeon collections in Northern Nigeria — including Jacobins, Fantails, Tumblers, Homers, and locally prized colour varieties in white, grey, red, black-and-white (ash), and mixed pied patterns.
Our pigeons are loft-bred, well-socialised, and healthy. We sell them singly or in bonded pairs — bonded pairs bond faster in your loft and produce more reliably than newly introduced strangers.

Racing & Homing Pigeons
Racing pigeons represent a different, performance-oriented branch of pigeon keeping. Bred for speed, endurance, and homing instinct, racing pigeons are used in organised pigeon racing events across Nigeria and internationally. They are also valued as gifts and status symbols among enthusiasts.
Our racing pigeon stock is sourced from proven racing lines and maintained in our purpose-built loft at Rigacikun. Young birds (squeakers) are available for buyers who want to train them from scratch, while experienced birds with training and race history are available for buyers who want to compete immediately.
We can also advise on loft design, training programmes, and race preparation for buyers new to the sport.

Caring for Pigeons
Housing (Loft)
Pigeons need a dry, draught-free loft with perches for each bird. Minimum 30 cm × 30 cm space per bird. Ensure good ventilation — pigeon droppings release ammonia which harms their respiratory system.
Feeding
Feed a grain mix of maize, sorghum, millet, and wheat. Commercial pigeon pellets are also suitable. Fresh, clean water must be available at all times. Grit (small stones or shell grit) aids digestion.
Health
Vaccinate against Newcastle Disease and Paramyxovirus annually. Treat for worms every 6 months. Watch for signs of respiratory illness, diarrhoea, or weight loss — contact our team if concerned.
Bonding New Birds
Quarantine new birds for 7 days before introducing to your loft. Keep new birds in a cage inside the loft for 1–2 weeks so existing birds can see them before full integration.
